Jernej leads the RNA Networks Laboratory at King's College London. He obtained his BSc at University of Ljubljana and Ph.D. at the Rockefeller University in New York. In 2006 he started his research group at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK, then moved to the University College London in 2013 and the Francis Crick Institute in London in 2016. In 2022 he took on his current role as the Centre Director of the UK Dementia Research Institute at King’s.
His work focuses on the functions and regulation of protein-RNA complexes and their roles in cellular homeostasis.
